The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul. ~ Alfred Austin

Walpole Pt 2

When we decided to go to Walpole for the weekend, we also decided to take the long way there. The more scenic route. First town we stopped in was Kojonup for some morning tea. I forgot to take any photos there... oops. Next up was Boyup Brook. The only photo I got from there was the one below, just as we came around the bend and down the hill.

Next up was Bridgetown

Bridgetown is a very hilly town and it is known as the coldest town in WA during the winter months. It is also another very pretty town.

Next up was Manjimup, we stopped here for some lunch and I ended up buying another printer. I went into the shop for something else and came out with a printer/scanner/fax. Funny how that happens.

Manjimup is an old timber milling town, and also another very cold town in the wintertime.

On our way home from Walpole, we passed through the town of Denmark. Another hilly and cold town. Also another one of my favourite places to visit.  It is always so green there.

The river in Denmark is a gorgeous spot. Grassy green banks and lots of bird life. For some reason I didn't take a photo of the riverbank, but we did walk a fair way along and saw plenty of ducks. Just about all of them followed us up and down the riverbank. Probably hoping for something to eat.

Lastly we drove through the Stirling Ranges, where we had lots of misty rain and low clouds hanging over the ranges.

It was nice to get away for the weekend, but it was also good to be home again. Hopefully we will be able to plan another weekend away before too long.
