The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul. ~ Alfred Austin

Walpole

Three weekends ago we travelled to Walpole in our state's south west. We needed to get out of town and see something different. I love the area around Walpole, it is so peaceful and quiet and you are surrounded by the gigantic Karri and Marri trees. It truly is a stunning area in our south west.

The drive down there is so pretty

Walpole Inlet

Our accommodation was a two bedroom unit only a short walk from
the inlet. The unit had a fully equipped kitchen, heating/cooling and
was very comfortable. Think we will stay here again on our next
visit. It was much nicer than where we have previously stayed.

Just outside the unit were these shrubs that had bright pink berries on
them. I have no idea what the shrubs are. The photo doesn't really
show how vibrant the berries were.

This bush was covered in flowers and the bees
loved it.

We went for a walk down to the jetty and there were a few people
fishing from there. A couple of pelicans were hanging around probably
hoping for a free feed of fish.

Even though is was a grey drizzly wet weekend, it was still a good
weekend. I love visiting Walpole, you just seem to instantly relax
when you arrive, it's a great place for slowing down and taking in
the scenery. You are surrounded by such beauty in nature.
